This structural glass arch was an experimental component of my thesis project exploring fractal geometry.
Glass has a very high compression strength and
laminated glass components of the arch are all placed in compression.
A series of tensile cables keep the arch from splaying while also
providing an electrical path for low-voltage lighting which, when
dimmed, gave the whole piece a soft glow.
